The OLMC Co-Curricular Dance program aims to develop the skills of students interested in dance. It provides students with the opportunity to build their confidence, engage with industry professional tutors and create a routine that will be presented in a Dance Showcase at the end of the year.

Open dance ensembles are offered in the styles of contemporary, hip-hop and jazz and are open to all students from Years 7-12. These ensembles meet weekly from 7:30-8:20am from Term 1 to the beginning of Term 4.

Participation in the Co-Curricular Dance Program involves a fee of $85 per term per ensemble to cover the expenses of a tutor. Students involved are also required to pay a one-off fee for a costume which will become property of the students.

  • Open Contemporary Ensemble - Tuesday morning 7:30-8:20am
  • Open Hip Hop Ensemble - Wednesday morning 7:30-8:20am

Bring It On Dance Competition

OLMC Parramatta participates in the annual Bring It On Dance Competition. Bring It On Dance is a hip-hop dance competition open to secondary schools. As part of this competition, students are required to choreograph an original dance routine and compete in heats against other Sydney schools. This is a rewarding experience that enables students to enhance their performance skills, develop friendships and work as team. This competition group is for students who already display competency in dance and students will be accepted by audition only.

Students will be required to pay a competition registration fee (approx. $50) and a one-off fee for a costume which will become property of the students.

Rehearsals will commence early in Term 2 and take place on Friday mornings from 7:30-8:20am. Additional rehearsal times may be required closer to the competition date.
